Egg freezing is an effective way for women to preserve her fertility and it offers woman flexibility in delaying pregnancy for later in life and allows you to take control of your own biological clock.

It is the process of preserving some of your eggs by retrieving them from your ovaries, freezing them, and storing them so you can use them to get pregnant later on.

Women who consider preserving their eggs like single women or women who want or need to delay childbearing in order to pursue educational, career or other personal goals or women who are undergoing medical treatment and want to protect their fertility from any negative side effects of medication.

Pregnancy rates from frozen eggs will depend on the woman’s age at the time she freezes her eggs, but will not be affected by the age at which she comes back to use them. The quality of a woman’s eggs, her ovarian reserve, diminishes with age while the reproductive organs maintain their ability to carry a pregnancy. The decrease in quality is relatively gradual until the age of 35, after which the rate increases. When egg quality decreases, the chance of pregnancy decreases and the risk of miscarriage and genetic abnormality increases, therefore the best age is below 35.

You can prepare your body for egg freezing by maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle, quit excessive caffeine, smoking and alcohol. If you are a current smoker, we recommend quitting at least 3 months prior to starting a cycle.

You should know that, there are a lot of benefits when you freeze your eggs, it can beat the biological clock, help reduce “fertility anxiety”, protect your eggs from disease, give you time to find the right partner and maintain personal and career goals.

Maybe it’s time to think about freezing your eggs!
