7 ways for a pregnant woman to break her fast in Ramadan

If you are pregnant and wish to fast, this has to be decided by your doctor who has full knowledge of issues relating to your pregnancy. If your doctor suggests fasting, you may go ahead with it.
Here are the best ways to break your fast:
1- Choose a variety of healthy foods and have plenty to drink at Iftar and Suhoor.
2- Have a healthy bedtime snack, and set your alarm clock if you need to, so you don’t miss your pre-dawn meal.
3- Choose foods that release energy slowly. Complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains and seeds, and high-fiber foods, such as pulses, vegetables, and dried fruits, will help to keep you going. This will also help to prevent constipation.
4- Avoid having lots of sugary foods that will raise your blood sugar levels quickly. Your blood sugar may then drop quickly, which may make you feel dizzy.
5- Rather than high-fat, refined foods, choose healthier options such as potatoes or chickpeas.
6- Make sure you get plenty of protein from beans, nuts and well-cooked meat and eggs. This will help your baby to grow well.
7 – Try to drink about 1.5 liters to 2 liters of water or other fluids between dusk and dawn, and avoid caffeinated drinks such as tea and coffee.
