A low salt diet (or sodium) is recommended to reduce blood pressure. We eat too much salt, and the shaker is not the biggest culprit. Sodium is everywhere, from milk, chips, turkey, salted nuts, to ready-to-eat pasta dish. To limit your sodium intake, avoid pre-packaged and canned foods and opt instead for fresh foods. Flavor your foods with fresh herbs and spices, lemon, lime, vinegar, or salt-free seasoning blends, which are sodium free.
